Microfold Brake Metal Corrugator

Description

The microfold brake is a type of rolling corrugator that can be used with sheet metal and wire to create detailed natural looking textures. Ideal for creating unique jewellery items such as large pendants, earrings, brooches and much more.

The rollers are made of 24 pitch steel pinion wire that are hardened and anodised to prevent roller from damage and rusting.

It features:

• Two 8 inch long rollers
• The base that can be screwed to a bench top
• Knobs attached to the vertical set-screws are used to adjust the pressure on the upper roller as well as the gap between the rollers when corrugating

Corrugation works best with the softer metals and their alloys such as fine silver, sterling silver, gold, copper and brass.

The thickness of the metals that can be used depends on the width. 34 to 24 gauge (0.23mm to 0.55mm) metal are most recommended for use with the microfold brake.

The corrugation is created by 2mm deep teeth.

The lower roller is stationary and the upper roller height can be adjusted to accommodate different metal thicknesses.

The size of the holes used to secure the corrugator to the bench measure 5mm.
