Wooden Swage Block And 14 Shaping Punches

Description

This range of 14 wooden shaping punches and swage block in a set are a fantastic addition to any workshop.

Use this forming and dapping block to create curves and angles within your metal sheet. As it is made from wood it provides a softer tool to work with, preventing surface marks and scratches.

To use for doming simply anneal metal to make it more malleable, cool, pickle and then place on doming block over the largest indent to start, (be sure to use slightly smaller punch) then strike with force using a mallet such asorto start curving/shaping.

You’ll need to anneal again after a few strikes and work down the diameters until you reach your required size.

We would advise when striking to place the block onto a mat such asto defuse the vibration.

This set contains;

• Round Punches: 6mm, 8mm, 11mm, 14mm, 16mm, 19mm, 22mm and 25mm (all 102mm long)
• Oblong Punches: 3x12mm,4x12mm, 5x12mm, 6x12mm and 7x12mm (all 102mm long)
• 90 degree angle punch (102mm long)
• Swage block: 67mm
