Wolf Wax by Ferris, winner of a MSJA Innovator Award, is inspired by renowned master modelmaker Kate Wolf, Kate has been carving wax and making jewellery for over 40 years.

Gold Wolf Wax is specifically designed for 3D wax milling machines as well as traditional methods of wax carving.

Today’s high speed 3-D wax milling machines demand a wax that withstandsextremely high RPM milling, and that isexactly what Wolf Milling Wax by Ferris delivers.

Wolf Milling Wax also known as Wolf Carving Wax possesses both high ductility and toughness and has been rated 59 on the shore hardness scale, meaning it can be milledinto the thinnest of cross sections with the most intricate details and minimal tool path residue.

This Wolf Gold Round Tube featuresa round profile with an off centre hole (16mm), it is perfect for carving rings with setting involved as the basic shape has been created for you, leaving more room at the top to carve a bezel, it also means less time is spent removing unneeded material.

It can be sawn, drilled, carved, milled and even turned, it can also be easily polished to a high quality finish.

Due to its low ash content this wax is perfect for investment casting and lost wax patterns, it burns out completely when cast.

This wax can also be used with the Magic E7 CNC Engraving and cutting machine ().

To create a ring;

• File end surface flat with a pillar fileand check with a set square.
• Mark the width of tube you need using dividers.
• Saw pierce off using a twisted blade(a little over the width you need) and file flat on other side.
• Using dividers and the hole as a guide, draw a larger circle and use a matt trimmerorand ring stick to achieve your required ring size.
• Once you have this you can mark out the depth you require and remove excess wax with saw and then trimmer.
• You can then draw your pattern/width with dividers, saw pierce and file to markings and then file to create your section.

Please note when marking the width of tube you need, if you are creating a fitted wedding ringyou will need to allow for the measurement from shank to bottom of setting before adding on the width you want the ring to be.

To ensure thorough bond when joining wax, melt model using a wax worker (997 D119) where repair wax is to be added.

The gold colour of this wax lets you create your design and show it to your customer in approximately the same colour.

This wax is vegan and gluten free.
