GRS Thermo-Loc Sticks are a reusable polymer fixing compound that offers an alternative to other fixing methods such as clamps or pitch.

Much like pitch, it softens when heated and will solidify when cooled (at room temperature). It has a pliable, clay-like consistency that you can form around your work and has a medium grey colour. It is designed to reduce eye strain when working under lights.

Ideal for holding irregular shaped or fragile items and great for making custom forms. It is suitable to be used alongside GRS vices for an extra secure hold.

To use:

• Place stick onto a Teflon mat and heat using either a microwave, hairdryer, heat gun or torch (refrain from heating it too long as it melts quickly and will be hot to touch; it is advised to wear gloves)
• Heat in small bursts until malleable like a putty (the bubbling or shiny appearance indicates that it will be too hot to touch)
• You can then mould into any shape you require or push into a reusable mould or push work into the now putty directly
• Be sure to create a channel so that you can remove your work when completed
