This Durston Jump Ring Maker Complete Forming Set is ideal for creating your own perfectly crafted jump rings in various sizes.

This complete Jump Ring Maker from Durston gives you the tools you need to make large batches of jump rings in one of 20 different sizes, from almost any kind of wire, to a precision finish ready to solder.

The major benefit from the predecessor is that this model is able to be separated, thus allowing you to access all the tools easier and with more space.

It features:

• A coil holder (attached to the base for stability)
• A safety coil winder which can be positioned to suit your needs
• A jump ring cutter
• 20 round mandrels (2.5mm-12mm diameter)
• Durston lubricant

Simply select one of the 20 mandrels from 2.5mm to 12mm and insert into the coil holder, and you are ready to start producing your own jump rings for your jewellery designs.

Insert one end of your chosen wire into the hole in the mandrel and fold over so that it does not come loose.

Then, rotate the handle of the coil holder while using your other hand to feed the wire onto the mandrel to create a tight, even coil.

Using snips, cut the coil loose from the mandrel before screwing into the spring-loaded cutting base.

Finally, attach the cutting blade and hand piece cover to your large hand piece to evenly cut through your jump rings. Once cut, unscrew the coil holder to remove the finished jump rings.

Each mandrel is 12cm long. Sizes included are: 2.5mm, 3mm,3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, 6.5mm, 7mm, 7.5mm, 8mm, 8.5mm, 9mm, 9.5mm, 10mm, 10.5mm, 11mm, 11.5mm and 12mm.

Maximum wire thickness for inserting into mandrel hole is approximately 1.85mm.

This product is supplied in a sturdy, powder coated aluminium base which should be screwed to a work surface before use.

Please note the following when in use:

• Apply lubrication on the jump rings before cutting through them in the machine, this will prolong the life of the blade, when cutting ensure you have full revs on and are using full force.
• We recommend a nut on either side of the machine when cutting 9mm jump rings or larger
• Always wear safety goggles

Please note, it is not recommended to make jump rings from stainless steel, as this can cause the blades to dull or break easily. Use with non-ferrous metals for optimum results.
