Burr Round No 1 0.5mm

Description

This round burr, measuring 0.5mm at its widest point, is perfect for opening settings and creating slots in claws to securely hold the stone’s girdle before the claws are pushed over.

A round burr is particularly useful for the following stone settings in jewellery :

• Flush Setting : Creates a small, rounded seat for the stone to sit level with the metal surface.
• Bezel Setting : Helps refine and shape the seat inside a bezel for a secure fit.
• Prong Setting : Used to round out prong tips or create divots for stone placement.
• Pave Setting : Drills and shapes uniform holes for closely set small stones. Bead Setting : Forms small beads of metal to hold stones in place. Designed for use with a pendant drill, hobby drill, or micromotor, it efficiently cuts or grinds away excess material and can also be used by hand for delicate work like wax carving. Made from steel, it features multiple teeth or blades mounted on a 2.34mm shank, which fits into a drill collet or chuck. The amount of material removed depends on the pressure applied.

Use of ‘Burr Life lubricant’ () helps to prolong the burs’ cutting ability.

Please note : Remember to have your motor set going clockwise to make the burr last even longer.
