Borax Dish

Description

This borax dish made of unglazed ceramic is used to make soldering flux with a borax cone or borax bar, alongside water to create a paste.Ideal for all forms of precious and non precious jewellery soldering.

Simply wet the dish with a little water, then rub the borax in a circular motion on the bottom of the dish, applying a little downward pressure. The textured surface of the borax dish will grind a small amount of the borax mixing with the water to create a soldering flux paste.

The borax dish should always be clean, any foreign substance mixed with the flux may effect the soldering process.

The paste should be of a consistency enabling it to be applied to jewellery pieces with a flux brush, ensuring solder flows where it should.
