Wooden File Handle, 90mm/3.5″

Description

This File Handle is made from beechwood, it measures 90mm and has been designed to ease the filing process.

The smooth shaped wooden handle features a 16mm – 20mm diameter that will sit comfortably in your hand whilst working on your jewellery pieces.

This handle is perfect for use with needle file or smaller hand held files such as 102mm (4″) or escapement files.

At the neck of the handle, a 12mm diameter metal collar has been fitted to retain the shape of the wood and prevent any splitting when the file is inserted.

The handle hole measures 2mm but will fit tangs slightly bigger when heated.

To mount the file:

• Secure tool in a vice with tang pointing upwards
• Heat the tang of the tool to red glow
• Push hand on to heated tang and tap with a brass hammer to secure

Please note – this is not suitable for use with larger files.
