Gold Filled Sheet 1.00mm Half Hard

Description

This 14ct Gold Filled sheet is supplied half hard and is ideal for forming, pressing and stamping, as well as other jewellery making applications. Half Hard sheet is malleable, but will hold its shape under some stress; ideal for forming structures that will support other components. The hardness is changeable by annealing or heat-hardening.

Gold filled is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight, and is therefore a much thicker and more durable alternative to gold plating. Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.

This Gold Filled sheet is double clad, meaning the gold content is distributed between the two sides of the sheet. As the brass core is not visible, double-cladded sheet prevents discoloration through oxidation or tarnish.

Our half hard Gold Filled sheet is cut to your requirements, helping you to work with the right amount of metal and minimising waste in your workshop.

Please note the minimum width we can supply is 5mm (up to 101.6mm) and the minimum length we can supply is 5mm (up to 203mm)

This Gold Filled sheet has a thickness of 1.00mm.

Other thicknesses are also available: 0.80mm (CWQ 080) and 1.50mm (CWQ 150)
