This 14ct Gold Filled 0.80mm Round Wire is ideal for creating a wide variety of jewellery pieces, whether you are creating wire rings, bangles, or findings. Gold Filled is the perfect option if you need something more economical than solid precious metal wire, as you get a high-end finish at a lower cost.

Supplied half hard, the wire retains its spring and therefore provides a more rigid wire than standard annealed wires. This is ideal for creating sharp angles and components that need to hold their shape such as ear wires, jump rings, bracelets, and more.

Gold filled is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight, and is therefore a much thicker and more durable alternative to gold plating. Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.
