Gold Filled Magnetic Clasp Converter With Bolt Ring

This 14ct Gold Filled barrel-shaped magnetic ball clasp converter fastens via a magnet in each hemisphere of the clasp. Perfect to use with a variety of necklace and bracelet designs and interchangeable jewellery, the clasp provides a secure hold, yet opens and closes easily. This makes it ideal for those who have difficulty using regular clasps. Attach the spring ring to the ring end of an existing clasp, and for the opposite side, attach the hook/closure side of existing clasp to the ring of this magnetic clasp.

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable.

Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.

The clasp measures 4.5mm and the spring ring measures 5mm.

Please note that care should be taken when soldering magnetic clasps, as excessive heat can cause the magnetic properties to fail. Any heat applied to the clasp should be kept away from the centre of the clasp as this can cause damage to the magnets inside.

Care should be taken to ensure that the clasp can support the weight of your jewellery piece to prevent loss or damage.
