This 14ct Gold Filled Lobster Claw Clasp is oval in shape. Lobster claw clasps are highly popular jewellery findings that are regularly used in jewellery making to fasten chains, necklets, pendants and bracelets. It features a flat loop at one end for attaching to a chain or jump ring. The claw shaped clasp is opened and closed with the aid of a spring trigger component. These simple but sturdy jewellery clasps are ideal for a subtle look which keeps the focus firmly on your jewellery designs.

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable.

Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.

These are finished with a 22ct yellow gold flash plating to ensure a uniform colour across all pieces.
