Gold Filled Cup Peg Post 3mm Pack of 6

Description

These 14ct Gold Filled Cup, Peg and Post Earrings feature a stud, or ‘French fitting’ post with a 3mm diameter domed cup. They are perfect for making stud earrings by attaching half-drilled pearls or other round beads onto the peg.

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable. Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.

The domed cup measures 3mm in diameter. The post is approximately 11mm long and measures approximately 0.80mm in diameter.
