Description

These 14ct Gold Filled Bolt Rings are highly popular jewellery findings which are regularly used to fasten chains, necklaces, pendants and bracelets. They are supplied open, meaning that the jump ring attached to one side of the bolt ring is not soldered and is ready to attach to another jump ring or a chain.

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable.

Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.

These are finished with a 22ct yellow gold flash plating to ensure a uniform colour across all pieces.

The inside diameter of the bolt ring is 3.6mm and the attached jump ring is 0.6mm thick.

Measures 6mm.
