Description

This Stainless Steel Mixed Shot from Durston is used for barrel polishing and is crafted from premium quality 304 grade stainless steel.

This mixed shot ensures a more uniform finishing process, reaching into various crevices of different shapes.

When using the shot, cleanliness is crucial for consistent quality of results.

In addition to keeping the inside of the barrel clean, it’s important to ensure the shot remains free from oxidation or rust. To achieve this, always store the shot submerged in a solution of water and Barrelbrite powder.

For extended periods of non-use, consider adding 25cc of ammonia or one tablespoon of Barrelbrite powder to the solution to prevent rust formation. Rusted shot is ineffective and should be replaced promptly.

1kg of shot is sufficient for each barrel, avoid overloading the barrel, as doing so may cause damage to your workpieces.

It’s advisable to use separate barrels and shot for gold, silver, and base metals to prevent one type of metal from being inadvertently burnished into another.

Prior to placing your items in the barrel, ensure they are thoroughly cleaned using an Ultrasonic Cleaner. Even small traces of dirt can contaminate the shot and Barrelling Compound.
