The Bench Essentials by Cooksongold Jewellers Butane Hand Torch is a compact, refillable torch designed for small and light soldering tasks in the jewellery workshop. Its ergonomic, anti-slip design ensures comfortable handling and precise control during detailed work.

Featuring easy electronic ignition, the torch starts quickly at the press of a button. The adjustable jet flame allows one-handed control, making it simple to regulate heat output as you work. It produces a yellow flame for softer, gentler heating and a blue flame for more concentrated, higher-temperature work, reaching up to 1300°C.

Filling the gas canister:

• Upon initial use the torch may require one charge/discharge cycle before achieving maximum capacity.
• WARNING: Avoid flames and sparks when discharging the gas from the unit.
• The Bench Essentials Jet Torch uses standard butane fuel. Fill the torch in a well-ventilated room, away from any open flame.
• Turn the torch off and make sure flame is out.
• Let the torch cool at least 5 minutes before filling the cylinder.
• Hold the torch upside down and insert the can’s nozzle into the gas filling valve.
• Press the nozzle into the valve to release the gas. Once the gas begins to seep out around the edge of the nozzle, the torch is full and you should remove the can.

Before Lighting the Torch:

• Set the gas adjustment dial to the centre position between the (-) and (+) symbols.
• Rotate the air adjustment ring until approximately half of the air holes are exposed.
• Using your thumb, pull down the Safety Switch.

Lighting the torch:

• Hold the torch securely in one hand.
• While holding down the Safety Switch with your thumb, press and hold the Ignition Button.
• The torch may take two or three attempts to ignite. Each new attempt requires you to pull down the Safety Switch again before pressing the Ignition Button.

Using the continuous flame:

• Before releasing the ignition button, press the continuous flame button using your free hand. Once engaged, the flame will remain lit without holding the ignition button.
• Adjust the flame intensity using the Gas Adjustment Dial and the Air Adjustment Ring until the desired flame is achieved.

Turning the torch off:

• Press the ignition button to release the continuous flame button.
• This will shut off the gas supply and extinguish the flame.

Please note: Contents are under pressure. Do not puncture or incinerate the container, even when empty. Do not expose the product to temperatures above 50°C.
